Since the discovery of Pompeii, every mid-18th century villa has a Pompeiian room. Mosaic floor is "trompe l’oeil" (fool the eye) painting on a particleboard first, then installed and varnished. Frescoed walls feature Dionysian allegories, Greco-Roman motifs, Bacchus as a child flanked by Panthers, Europa, Venus and a frieze of cupids.
